Job summary

Harbor Group Management Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold the physical integrity and appearance of our multifamily properties in Columbus, Ohio. This on-site position handles routine maintenance, resident service requests, and safety/compliance tasks to meet company standards.

Ideal candidates have basic maintenance experience, HVAC certification, and a customer-service orientation to interact professionally with residents.

Qualifications

• One-year prior experience in general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, or appliance repair.
• HVAC certification preferred; EPA Type I & II or Universal certification for refrigerant handling.
• Multifamily maintenance experience is highly desired.
• Must be available for emergency on-call, including evenings and weekends.
• Must have a valid driver’s license (for golf cart operation if applicable).
• Must be customer-service oriented with the ability to interact professionally with residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical and mechanical maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, and glass replacement.
• Respond to resident service requests promptly and track repairs using the work order system.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and repair tasks across the property to ensure safe operation.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents by inspections, punch lists, and scheduling contractors.
• Maintain amenity areas and common spaces through cleaning, trash removal, and minor painting.
• Inspect work by vendors or contractors to ensure quality and scope.
