Job summary

ROSS Companies is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for a Capitol Heights, MD property. The role involves maintaining the community, handling tenant relations, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.

You will perform preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC and related systems, respond to service requests and emergencies, and monitor equipment to minimize downtime. A valid driver's license is preferred and 2+ years of maintenance experience are expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years maintenance experience in HVAC repair and preventive maintenance of building systems.
• Ability to follow instructions and perform maintenance independently and timely.
• CFC Type 2 certification may be required.
• Good organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional, cooperative and service oriented attitude with residents during service order requests.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and service calls.
• Communicate hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Inform supervisor of damages to community structures or grounds.
• Promote fair housing standards and equal housing opportunity.
• Complete service order requests timely and accurately.
• Monitor maintenance supply inventory and inform supervisor when items need ordering.
• Service and maintain community equipment to ensure uninterrupted use.
• Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, heating, AC and ventilation systems.
• Participate in 24-hour emergency maintenance service and weather emergencies.
