Job summary

The Franklin Group, based in Portsmouth, VA, is seeking a Leasing Consultant to show and lease apartments and support the community's marketing plan. This hourly position requires strong leasing and sales skills, plus knowledge of Fair Housing standards.

You will assist applicants, collect deposits, keep model apartments in show-ready condition, and work with the Community Manager to maintain resident satisfaction and effective property marketing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Fair Housing training/certifications within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Shows and leases apartments to prospective residents and supports the community's marketing plan.
• Assist applicants with rental applications and collect security deposits.
• Maintain model and target apartments for show readiness and keep offices clean and orderly.
• Know lease terms, policies, and current rental rates; apply selling techniques.
• Maintain contact with apartment locator services and local businesses; compare properties.
• Develop and maintain resident retention programs under supervision.
