Job summary

The Franklin Group in Richmond, VA is hiring a Leasing Consultant to show and lease apartments, support the community marketing plan, and maintain the property’s curb appeal. This role requires strong customer service and sales skills, plus knowledge of Fair Housing standards.

Responsibilities include processing applications, collecting deposits, coordinating property showings, and supporting resident retention programs. The position is non-exempt, with hourly pay and benefits as listed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or team members.
• Fair Housing training must be completed within 1 day of hire; harassment and drug-free workplace courses within 7 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist applicants with rental applications and collect security deposits.
• Ensure model and target apartments are ready for showing; maintain clean, orderly work areas.
• Know lease terms, policies, and community amenities; apply sales techniques.
• Maintain contact with apartment locator services and local businesses for informational material; update periodically.
• Develop and maintain resident retention programs under the Community Manager.
