Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a company seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee day-to-day construction of for-sale residential communities in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA.

The role requires at least five years of multifamily residential construction management, with hands-on leadership across horizontal site development and vertical construction. You will coordinate with trade partners, inspectors, and internal teams to maintain schedules, budgets, and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years managing multifamily residential construction sites.
• Experience with townhomes and multi-story attached housing.
• Knowledge of horizontal site development and vertical construction.
• Experience coordinating with municipalities, inspectors, subcontractors, and trade partners.
• Ability to read civil, architectural, structural, and MEP plans.
• Knowledge of California building codes, Cal/OSHA, and SWPPP requirements.
• Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors, project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage horizontal construction activities (grading, utilities, site improvements, infrastructure) and vertical residential construction.
• Oversee subcontractors and trade partners, including scheduling and workmanship.
• Develop and maintain construction schedules and identify delays or risks.
• Lead preconstruction and startup meetings, orientations, and field reviews.
• Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with codes, permits, and conditions of approval.
• Enforce safety requirements and SWPPP procedures.
• Monitor budgets, review invoices, manage change orders and back charges.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align construction with plans and homeowner commitments.
• Perform quality control inspections, manage punch lists, and pre-closing walkthroughs.
• Support warranty transitions and resolve post-closing issues.
