Job summary

Horning Management Company is seeking an experienced Collections & Legal Administration Manager to lead the centralized collections and legal administration function across a 26-community portfolio totaling about 4,200 units in DC, MD, and VA. Reporting to the VP of Property Management, you will steer strategy, negotiate settlements, and oversee legal processes to protect assets.

Qualifications

Five or more years of experience in multifamily property management collections or related legal administration.
Experience coordinating with outside legal counsel on litigation or high-volume legal filings.
Working knowledge of property management software (e.g., Yardi Voyager).

Responsibilities

Lead portfolio collections strategy to reduce delinquency and improve cash flow.
Oversee the collections lifecycle from early delinquency to legal escalation and possession.
Manage outside counsel and vendors; monitor performance and billing.
Drive settlements, payment plans, and post-judgment recovery activities.
Create centralized dashboards and reporting for leadership across the portfolio.
