Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Tech in Philadelphia to perform a wide range of building maintenance and repair tasks across common areas and condominium facilities, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting. The role requires problem solving, on-site responsiveness, and adherence to safety and budgeting guidelines.

Responsibilities include inspections, routine reporting, inventory management, and collaborating with the on-site team to ensure resident

Qualifications

• Proficient in reading blueprints and plans.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years in building maintenance/repair.
• Ability to follow directions and keep logs.
• May use personal vehicle for duties.
• Basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical knowledge.
• Extensive experience with hand and power tools.
• Familiar with custodial/maintenance materials and methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular status updates to the General Manager.
• Monitor and maintain inventory daily.
• Act with minimal supervision; take initiative.
• Respond to emergencies; coordinate for safety.
• Work within budgets and report progress.
• Complete community inspections and reports.
• Maintain supplies/tools and secure storage.
• Perform repairs on common areas and equipment.
• Inspect lighting and replace bulbs.
• Clean and maintain floors, carpets, and surfaces.
• Move furniture and set up rooms for meetings.
• Maintain common areas and cleanliness.
• Monitor sump pump and boiler equipment.
• Check fire escapes and compliance.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Be courteous to residents.
