Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Restaurant Maintenance Technician to diagnose and repair HVAC, refrigeration, and kitchen equipment across the San Antonio region. You will respond to service calls, complete repairs to SLA standards, and coordinate with leadership and vendors to minimize downtime.

This field-based role requires travel within the region, on-call availability, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Whataburger offers competitive pay, benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ year field experience in HVAC and commercial refrigeration.
• 1+ year experience repairing commercial kitchen equipment.
• EPA or CFC Certification.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally and long distances.
• Strong communication with restaurant leaders and vendors.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders/roofs.
• Knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, and intermediate electrical work.
• On-call rotation once a month; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC, refrigeration, and kitchen equipment.
• Respond to service calls and urgent maintenance needs.
• Complete and document repairs per work orders and SLAs.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and work area.
• Coordinate with restaurant leadership and vendors on repair status.
