Job summary

Captain + Stoker on Monterey Peninsula is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and support our three shops. You will balance strategic planning with hands-on daily execution, partnering with owners to drive performance, strengthen systems, and uphold hospitality.

You’ll spend time in cafés supporting managers, coaching teams, and shaping a culture rooted in accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of leadership in coffee, hospitality, restaurant, or retail operations.
• Experience leading multiple locations or large teams.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort with inventory, labor, and financial performance.
• Hands-on leadership style focused on coaching and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and coach shop managers and shift leads.
• Foster a positive, accountable culture across locations.
• Oversee daily operations and ensure service standards.
• Support interviewing, onboarding, and staff development.
• Monitor sales, labor, and expenses to drive profitability.
• Maintain compliance with food safety and workplace regulations.
• Develop systems and optimize scheduling and workflow.
• Conduct regular store visits and operational reviews.
