Job summary

CGL Facility Maintenance, LLC is seeking a General Trades Technician for Richmond, VA. The role involves performing general maintenance, electrical and plumbing repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure building systems operate safely and efficiently.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade a variety of facilities components, read blueprints, and adhere to safety and OSHA guidelines. On-call work and driving may be required, with a competitive compensation package and benefits.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
1-3 years experience in building repairs and maintenance.
Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in all weather.
Willing to work on-call shifts and be a team player.
DL number valid in-state and EPA 608 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs general maintenance and repair work on facilities and equipment.
Responds to service requests including electrical, furnaces, lighting, HVAC systems, appliances, water heaters, plumbing & fixtures.
Performs routine preventative maintenance to keep machines operating smoothly and buildings in good condition.
Follows preventive maintenance program for heating and ventilation systems and replaces filters as needed.
Assists in emergency maintenance including sewage back-ups, water main and lateral breaks, fires, and leaks.
Assembles, installs and/or repairs wiring, electrical and plumbing components.
Checks blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs.
Installs, maintains, evaluates, and repairs components of the facility’s systems.
Operates plant equipment and building automation systems.
Keeps tools, gauges, and inventory in good repair and organized.
Reads blueprints and plans to determine work and resources required.
Maintains a safe workplace and follows safety procedures and OSHA standards.
Handles hazardous materials per applicable laws and regulations.
On-call availability as needed.
Trains other technicians and provides mentorship and direction.
Enter work orders into CMMS per policy.
May drive company or personal vehicle for work more than 50% of the time.
