Job summary

CGL Facility Maintenance is seeking a General Trades Technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance across facilities, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and painting. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairs, and hands-on maintenance to ensure safe, efficient operation of buildings.

The role requires working in various spaces, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to read blueprints and operate related tools. On-call availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years experience in building repairs and maintenance preferred.
• General knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance and repair work on facilities and equipment.
• Responds to service requests including electrical, furnaces, lighting, HVAC, appliances, water heaters, plumbing, carpentry and painting.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines operate smoothly and facilities remain in good condition.
• Follows preventive maintenance program for heating and ventilation systems and replaces filters as needed.
• Assists in emergency maintenance including sewage backups, water main breaks, and other leaks.
• Assembles, installs and repairs wiring, electrical components, piping, and equipment.
• Reads blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs.
• Maintains equipment and tools, and conducts inventory per policy.
• Operates plant equipment and building automation systems.
