Job summary

Alkegen is seeking a Payroll Specialist to independently handle multi-location payroll processing in a multi-state environment. You will analyze payroll accounts, respond to inquiries, and collaborate with HR, Benefits, and external providers to resolve complex issues with discretion.

The role requires excellent verbal and written communication, strong data integrity, and the ability to maintain confidentiality across U.S. employee payrolls.

Qualifications

• Experience processing payroll in a multi-location, multi-state environment.
• Strong Excel and data integrity skills for audit readiness.
• Knowledge of federal and multi-state payroll tax regulations.
• Excellent communication and confidentiality.
• Independent judgment with supervision as needed.

Responsibilities

• Process one or more full cycle multi-state payrolls and related records.
• Ensure data transmission from time and attendance to payroll systems and balance batches.
• Maintain Workday and UKG mappings and interfaces; lead process improvements.
• Verify change Reports from HR (new hires, pay changes, etc.).
• Prepare special payroll runs (e.g., bonuses) and related accounting entries.
• Oversee payroll data transmissions and maintain related reports and records.
• Ensure Fidelity updates to contributions and loans are current.
• Prepare year-end documents and reports; support Finance, HR and Benefits.
