C.H. Guenther in Texas is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage multi-state payrolls, adjustments, incentives, and reconciliations, partnering with HR, Finance, Benefits and leadership to ensure compliance and data integrity.

This role emphasizes process improvement, audit readiness, and cross-functional collaboration, with a 2–3 year payroll background and strong Excel skills; CPP preferred. Salary ranges between $21.08 and $34.03 per hour, plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of multi-state payroll experience.
• Experience processing payroll adjustments, bonuses, incentives, and special payments.
• Knowledge of payroll taxes, garnishments, and benefit administration.
• Advanced Excel and Workday Payroll experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate across Payroll, HR, Finance, Benefits, and business functions.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly and biweekly multi-state payrolls accurately and within deadlines.
• Review and process payroll adjustments, off-cycle payments, and special payroll transactions.
• Process incentive and compensation payments, including bonuses and long-term incentive transactions.
• Prepare checks, ACH payments and obtain bank confirmations.
• Audit payroll results for accuracy of earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and benefit withholdings.
• Maintain employee payroll records and respond to payroll inquiries from employees and managers.
• Generate payroll reports and provide analysis to internal partners and leadership.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and efficiencies.
• Cross-train and provide support across all payroll functions to ensure business continuity.
