Job summary

Hunter+Sage is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Northwest Houston to support payroll processing, employee records, compliance, and reporting across multiple locations. You will collaborate with Payroll, HR, Operations, and Accounting to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities include processing weekly payroll for multiple states, reconciling time records, resolving discrepancies, and supporting payroll questions while maintaining deductions and records.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll experience.
• Experience processing multi-state payroll.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Knowledge of payroll compliance, reporting, and regulations.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with payroll software (UKG experience is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Process and support weekly payroll for employees across multiple states.
• Review, audit, and reconcile employee time records.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Assist with employee payroll questions and verification requests.
• Maintain payroll deductions, employee records, and related system updates.
• Support compliance reporting, including certified payroll and other required filings.
• Research payroll requirements for new jurisdictions as needed.
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate employee setup, classifications, and payroll processing.
• Help maintain payroll compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
