Job summary

Construction Resources is seeking a Payroll Specialist to handle accurate weekly and biweekly payrolls for exempt and non-exempt staff across multiple states. You will process inputs, manage timekeeping, and ensure compliance with payroll tax requirements.

The role requires strong Excel skills, experience with HRIS platforms, and a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. Bachelor's degree preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position with potential collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Four years of hands-on, end-to-end payroll processing experience required.
• Experience processing multi-state payroll across multiple locations strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll requirements, wage and hour laws, payroll taxes, deductions, and garnishments.
• Experience with payroll and HRIS platforms; experience supporting payroll system implementations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely weekly and biweekly payrolls for exempt and non-exempt employees across locations and states.
• Manage payroll inputs and adjustments: new hires, terminations, transfers, compensation changes, overtime, bonuses, commissions, retroactive pay, deductions, and off-cycle payments.
• Review timekeeping records, reports, and approvals; resolve discrepancies before payroll finalization.
• Generate and reconcile payroll reports including labor distribution, tax, and other disclosures.
• Maintain timekeeping systems and provide training to managers and employees.
• Administer wage garnishments and other legally required deductions.
