Job summary

Pape-Dawson Consulting Engineers, LLC is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to manage multi-state payroll processing and employee records. You will review timekeeping data, update tax withholdings, and assist with benefits administration in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with HR, Benefits, and Finance to ensure accurate payroll, tax filings, and compliance. Strong Excel skills and 5 years of payroll experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 5 years of payroll administration/coordination experience.
• Experience with ADP, Workday, Paylocity or similar platforms; Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, taxes, wage/hour, deductions, and 401(k) contributions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions.

Responsibilities

• Support biweekly payroll processing for employees across multiple states.
• Review timesheets for completeness, accuracy, policy compliance, and approvals.
• Maintain payroll records for hires, terminations, compensation changes, direct deposit updates, and tax changes.
• Assist with payroll tax filings, reporting, and related compliance activities.
• Support benefits administration, payroll deductions, and reconciliations.
• Process and reconcile 401(k) contributions, employer matches, and loans.
• Research payroll discrepancies and escalate exceptions as needed.
• Prepare payroll reports and analyze payroll data using Excel.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end payroll activities.
• Coordinate with HR, Benefits, and Finance as needed.
