Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Payroll Coordinator for an onsite, 6-month contract in Santa Monica, CA. You will support accurate and timely payroll processing for a large, multi-state, unionized workforce while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of payroll experience, hands-on ADP Workforce Now knowledge, and strong attention to detail. You will handle end-to-end payroll duties, audits, reporting, and confidential payroll data

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
• Experience processing multi-frequency payrolls from start to finish.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including multi-state payroll.
• Experience auditing and reconciling payroll and HR data to ensure accuracy.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite skills.
• Understanding of payroll compliance, wage and hour laws, and payroll best practices.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
• Strong customer service mindset and ability to resolve employee payroll inquiries.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-state, unionized workforce.
• Perform payroll audits and reconciliations and ensure tax compliance.
• Manage payroll integrations and garnishments as needed.
• Generate payroll reporting and support ad hoc requests.
