Job summary

The Pivot Group Network partners with Battle Creek area manufacturers to source qualified Payroll Specialists. This role focuses on accurate, compliant bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff, multi-state tax compliance, and precise GL postings.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of manufacturing payroll experience, proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or UKG Pro, and an associate degree in Accounting or Finance; CPP is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience processing multi-state payroll for 500+ employees in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, UKG Pro) and timekeeping systems.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including multi-state tax compliance.
• Experience with payroll general ledger reconciliation and month-end close processes.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries effectively.
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for all manufacturing employees, including hourly and salaried.
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, commissions, and deductions in compliance with company policy and federal/state regulations.
• Reconcile payroll data, prepare journal entries, and assist with general ledger postings related to payroll.
• Manage timekeeping system data, verifying hours and leave requests for payroll processing.
• Administer and reconcile employee benefits deductions, including health insurance, 401(k), and other voluntary deductions.
• Prepare and submit federal and state payroll tax filings, including W-2s and 1099s.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and time-off balances.
