Job summary

EMCOR Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to deliver quick and effective services at client properties across a Chesapeake, VA territory.

You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, tackle plumbing, electrical, HVAC and carpentry tasks, and communicate with customers to ensure high workmanship standards. Role requires 2–5 years of general maintenance experience, valid driver's license, and ability to read instructions and generate reports.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or Degree/Certification, or equivalent professional experience in Landscaping, Trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, etc.), or Specialty Floor Care, preferred.
• Two to five years of general maintenance experience, including minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
• Must possess applicable certifications, licenses, and valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions including safety policies and operating manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; present information clearly.
• Experience in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical.

Responsibilities

• Completes preventative maintenance and repairs per work order requirements.
• Performs minor plumbing maintenance such as repair/unclogging toilets and urinals; maintain valves and fixtures.
• Repairs and maintains walls, floors, doors and performs painting touch ups as needed.
• Performs minor electrical maintenance within state law requirements; replace fixtures, switches, and outlets; replace light bulbs and ballasts.
• Uses handheld devices to access work orders, submit service reports and observations, and manage timesheets.
• Travels daily between properties to service customer sites.
• Maintains safety training and compliance per OSHA and company policies.
