Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. seeks an experienced Facilities Manager in California to lead multiple-site maintenance programs, mentor technicians, and drive safety-first operations. You will oversee contractors, implement SOPs, and ensure preventive maintenance aligns with contractual obligations.

The role requires deep knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, and building operations, plus strong vendor management and communication skills to deliver exceptional service and store performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Facilities Manager or equivalent.
• Relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education preferred.
• Solid knowledge of building/mechanical, electrical systems (MEP).
• Experience using CMMS systems and reporting including planning, scheduling, and workstream analysis.
• Strong relationships with customers, peers, and senior leadership.
• Experience managing remote teams and third party contracted services.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills for complex issues.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Six Sigma, Lean, or related operational excellence certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a safety-first culture across portfolio and promote safe work practices.
• Lead and manage a team of technicians, vendors, and suppliers across multiple locations.
• Build relationships with site leads, regional leadership, and business partners.
• Ensure preventive maintenance on critical and non-critical equipment.
• Respond to emergency calls as necessary.
• Develop and implement SOPs and PM schedules to support operations.
• Coordinate FM activities with site occupants and landlords.
