Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks an experienced Data Center Engineering Operations Area Manager to own data center engineering operations, risk management, and maintenance across multiple sites in a high-availability environment.

The role involves vendor management, capacity planning, and driving performance metrics for critical infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems, chillers, and power distribution. A strong leadership track record is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of people management and team development experience
• Experience maintaining SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting
• Experience operating a mission-critical team or product
• High school or equivalent
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in data center ops

Responsibilities

• Oversee availability zone of Data Centers and drive uptime.
• Participate in strategic planning and financial analyses.
• Manage multiple sites and project plans; lead teams and staff development.
• Recruit and mentor staff; set priorities to meet budget and timelines.
• Coordinate with IT and business leaders to optimize facility safety and efficiency.
• Operate and manage routine and emergency services on data center infrastructure.
