Job summary

Prime Electric is seeking an experienced Fleet Operations Director to lead the organization’s fleet across multiple regions, including CA and Northwest. You will oversee procurement, maintenance, and safety programs, while building vendor relationships and managing budgets.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of experience, including 3+ years in a managerial capacity, with a strong emphasis on OSHA/DOT compliance and fleet optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or relevant field and 10+ years’ experience, including 3+ years in a management role.
• Valid state driver’s license and insurable with a good driving record.
• Proven work experience in fleet and equipment management or similar role.
• Knowledge of vehicle systems and maintenance procedures.
• Understanding of transportation and safety regulations.
• Proficient in fleet management software and GPS systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct the acquisition, operations, management and maintenance of the fleet across multiple regions and states.
• Travel up to 30% to jobsites and regional offices to support field leadership.
• Develop and implement fleet management strategies for cost-effective operations.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for fleet purchases and services.
• Oversee maintenance, repairs, and vehicle availability; ensure compliant with regulations.
