Job summary

Major Contracting is seeking an experienced Corporate Fleet Manager & Commercial Vehicle Operations Director to direct lifecycle management, PM scheduling, and DOT compliance for the company fleet. You will own uptime for passenger vehicles, light and CDL trucks, and trailers, while leading internal shop mechanics and coordinating parts supply.

You will drive telematics analytics, manage budgets, and enforce safety standards across operations, reporting to senior leadership with strategic input.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of verified fleet management experience with civil/utilities fleets.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic knowledge for light/heavy trucks.
• Proficient in CMMS and GPS telematics platforms; Excel data modeling.
• In-depth knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA regulations.
• Leadership experience overseeing shop personnel and drivers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day fleet operations and asset utilization across sites.
• Develop and audit preventive maintenance schedules and safety inspections.
• Direct mechanics and technicians to minimize downtime.
• Ensure DOT and regulatory compliance for logs, registrations, permits.
• Manage parts inventory and vendor relationships for cost control.
• Analyze telematics data and report key metrics to leadership.
• Contribute to budgeting and lifecycle planning for assets.
• Lead incident investigations and safety actions; maintain records.
