Job summary

PopStroke Entertainment Group in Jupiter, FL, is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to maintain accurate financial records and improve accounting processes for a growing multi-location business. This hands-on role reports to the Controller and collaborates with Finance, Operations, executives, and auditors.

Responsibilities include month-end close, reconciliations, inventory, fixed assets, payroll accruals, and cross-venue analysis.

Qualifications

• Progressive accounting experience in multi-location businesses.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and corporate accounting principles.
• Experience with financial reporting, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience supporting internal or external audits.
• Strong Excel skills and ERP systems experience.
• Detail-oriented with ability to balance complex records.
• Ability to work from PopStroke's Jupiter office, with one day a week in Stuart.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and provide insights into performance.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain general ledger and chart of accounts, including prepaid expenses and accruals.
• Track and analyze revenue and expenses across multiple venues and corporate operations.
• Ensure accounting practices align with GAAP and company policies.
• Oversee bank reconciliation process and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain inventory accounting records and support reconciliations and controls across locations.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and schedules.
• Assist with payroll accruals and ensure integration into the general ledger.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
