Job summary

Southern Michigan Bank & Trust is seeking a customer-focused Universal Banker/Teller to support daily branch operations across multiple locations. You will build relationships, open accounts, assist customers from start to finish, and promote bank products while handling cash, wires, and customer inquiries.

The ideal candidate has cash handling experience, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with banking software such as Jack Henry Xperience and Synapsys.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and some training/experience.
• Customer service, cash handling and banking experience preferred.
• Attentiveness to detail and basic computer skills (Word/Excel).
• Experience with Jack Henry software (Xperience/Synapsys) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel to multiple branches within county to assist where needed.
• Build and maintain customer relations by providing high quality service.
• Open new accounts using needs-based techniques.
• Discuss, sell, and refer banking services and loans.
• Balance drawers, vault, and branch technology within guidelines.
• Mentor/train junior tellers/universal bankers.
