Job summary

Florida State University’s College of Social Work is seeking an Online MSW Academic Advisor to support online MSW students with academic services, onboarding, and enrollment guidance.

The role focuses on fostering student belonging and providing coaching on time management, organization, and study skills, in collaboration with the MSW Program Director to address feedback and ensure smooth course registration and degree planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2 years of professional experience in a related setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent with 6 years of related experience.
• Preferred: master's degree in social work or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as frontline contact for online MSW students regarding academic support and program questions.
• Facilitate welcome webinars and onboarding activities for newly admitted students.
• Develop relationships to foster student belonging to the College of Social Work.
• Provide coaching on time management, organization, study skills, and academic success.
• Assist with registration procedures and guidance on course enrollment.
• Monitor student engagement and identify needs for outreach or intervention.
