Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an MRI Technologist I to perform MRI exams following departmental protocols and safety standards. You will operate scanners, post-processing stations, IV contrast injectors, and monitoring equipment while ensuring high-quality image acquisition.

The role requires ARRT radiologic or nuclear medicine credentials, ARRT MRI registry eligibility or ARMRIT, and CPR certification. This is a PRN, part-time position with Tuesday and select Saturdays schedule, in a setting that

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• MRI registry eligibility (ARRT) or ARMRIT program; must obtain registry within 1 year of hire.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Exams are verified with orders; contact Radiologist for discrepancies.
• Identify patients with two identifiers and prepare them with explanations.
• Obtain pertinent medical history from EMR and requisitions; correlate results.
• Perform MRI scanning from start to dictation and ensure patient safety.
• Administer IV contrast per protocol; document types and amounts when requested.
• Ensure image quality and consult Radiologist for abnormal findings; adjust images as needed.
• Maintain infection control and sterile technique; assist in invasive MRI-related procedures.
• Operate radiology computer system; document contrast administration in MAR.
• Maintain a clean and stocked work area; support anesthesia during exams as needed.
• Maintain MRI safety knowledge for staff and patients around magnetic fields.
