Job summary

Akumin is seeking an MRI Technologist for PRN coverage at our Dallas Texas facilities. The role requires pre-screening for safety, image acquisition per protocol, and effective patient and radiologist communication.

Candidates should have ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification, a state license if applicable, CPR/BLS; ACLS where required, and at least 3 years of technologist experience. Travel among local sites may be needed.

Qualifications

• ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification as allowable by contract.
• State license, if applicable required.
• CPR Certification, BLS from AHA or ARC. ACLS certification where applicable.
• Valid state driver’s license, as applicable required.
• Minimum 3 years technologist experience.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational, multi-tasking, and critical thinking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• Local travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, restricting patients, staff, and visitor access related to zones, screening, equipment, and exam scanning as deemed necessary.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images in accordance with imaging protocols and ARRT/ARMRIT standards; manage different MR equipment and injection systems.
• Effectively communicates with customers and radiologists; maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Demonstrate competency in contrast safety and administration, including starting/discontinuing IVs and administration via ports. Proficient with EMR, PACS, and DICOM.
• Train and orient new technologists and MR Assistants, onsite or remote as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.
