Job summary

Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center MRI department is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist I to operate MRI scanners and related equipment with high proficiency. You will verify orders, prepare patients, and maintain safety protocols.

The role requires ARRT MRI registry eligibility or ARMRIT program, CPR certification, and readiness to work weeknights with a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates. Join a leading Level 1 trauma center in Charlotte, NC.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine program; MRI registry required within 1 year.
• Active enrollment in MRI ARRT registry eligible or ARMRIT program required.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Verify orders with Radiologist and clarify discrepancies.
• Identify patient using two identifiers and explain procedures.
• Review EMR for medical history and correlate data with exam.
• Perform MRI exams from start to finish and dictate results.
• Prepare and administer IV contrast per protocol.
• Evaluate image quality and consult Radiologist as needed.
• Maintain radiation safety and assist in emergencies.
• Operate radiology computer systems and document contrast in MAR.
• Keep work area neat, stocked and clean.
• Assist anesthesia during MRI procedures.
• Follow MRI safety requirements around magnetic fields.
