Job summary

Wellstar Health System in the United States seeks a qualified MRI Technologist to join the night shift. You will set up MRI exams, position patients, and ensure safety and comfort while obtaining high-quality diagnostic images.

Required are accredited MRI training, ARMRIT or ARRT-MR credentials, BLS, and at least one year of experience. You will support a fast-paced department, maintain equipment, and educate patients using AIDET.

Qualifications

• Obtains clinical history and examination data; assesses contraindicating conditions.
• Follows procedures for contrast administration to prevent deterioration or pain.
• Ensures proper patient identification for all studies.
• Reviews images for clinical acceptability and releases patients.
• Responds to emergency situations.
• Assists other technologists across modalities when needed.
• Observes patient condition and escalates to physician when intervention is needed.
• Verifies patient identity prior to procedures per hospital policy.
• Maintains patient privacy and comfort throughout exam.
• Demonstrates competence in selecting procedures and equipment based on patient age.
• Organizes schedule and priorities to meet time frames.
• Follows physician instructions during procedures.
• Performs pre-procedure verification and Time Out documentation.
• Demonstrates pre- and post-procedural care.
• Preps patient for procedure.
• Demonstrates sterile technique.
• Prepares trays and catheters; participates in biopsies if applicable.
• Proficient with Dynacad system if applicable.
• Prepares and may administer contrast.
• Verifies contrast orders and checks GFR; ensures weight-based dosing.
• Uses safety devices to protect patient hearing.
• Understands anatomy labeling and use of immobilizers.
• Knows cross-sectional anatomy and required anatomy.
• Uses critical thinking; Seeks clarification on ambiguous orders.
