Job summary

Wellstar is seeking a night shift Radiology Technologist to provide safe, high-quality imaging services. You will set up equipment, position patients, and perform exams with independent judgment while ensuring patient privacy and comfort.

The role requires flexibility in hours, dependable collaboration with the team, and adherence to department procedures. Sign-on and relocation may be available, with a comprehensive benefits program.

Responsibilities

• Obtains complete clinical history, gathers examination data and assesses for contraindicating conditions.
• Follows established procedures for administration of contrast medias so that no patient condition deteriorates.
• Ensures that all studies have proper patient identification.
• Reviews images for clinically acceptable results and releases patients.
• Responds to emergency situations.
• Assists other technologists in all modalities when needed.
• Observes patient condition and properly evaluates situations when physician intervention is necessary.
• Verifies correct identity of patient prior to performing a procedure.
• Ensures patient's privacy and comfort is accommodated.
• Demonstrates competence in procedures based on patient age; organizes schedule and priorities.
• Follows physicians instructions when assisting with procedures.
• Understands pre-procedure verification and Time Out process.
• Demonstrates pre- and post-procedural care.
• Preps the patient for procedure; demonstrates sterile technique.
• Prepares trays and catheters for procedures; participates in biopsies if applicable.
• Demonstrates proficiency on the Dynacad if applicable.
• Prepares and may administer contrast; verifies order is with contrast and checks GFR.
• Uses safety devices to protect patients hearing during exam.
• Understands anatomical positioning and cross-sectional anatomy.
• Uses critical thinking skills; seeks clarification on ambiguous orders.
