Job Description

This posting serves as a general site for all MRI applications within the Jefferson Health East region, including:

• Jefferson Cherry Hill
• Jefferson Stratford
• Jefferson Washington Township

MRI Technologist

Under the supervision of a radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures to produce detailed tissue images for diagnosis. Prepares pertinent information for physicians and care teams, and provides patient care and education before, during, and after procedures.

Essential Functions

• Interacts professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff, reflecting Jefferson's values.
• Processes and evaluates image quality, including density, contrast, definition, and distortion.
• Maintains patient and equipment positioning during contrast media flow to ensure safety and examination success.
• Instructs patients on positioning and explains procedures to ensure understanding and comfort.
• Determines equipment needs based on physician diagnoses and scout films.
• Maintains MRI equipment through scheduled cleaning, testing, and documentation; reports malfunctions.
• Follows MRI safety guidelines during imaging procedures.
• Performs related duties as assigned, including quality assurance tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of radiography tools, techniques, and applications.
• Ability to prepare patients and monitor reactions during procedures, responding to emergencies appropriately.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Graduate of an approved ARRT program.
• Preferred 6 months to 1 year of experience.

Certifications, Registration, or License Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Active MRI Certification
• State license as required
