Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited medical sonography program.

Job Description

Under the direction of a radiologist or physician, the Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations to produce images for diagnostic purposes and interventional procedures. Responsibilities include proper patient positioning, image assembly, safety adherence, software utilization, equipment maintenance, and assisting in quality assurance. May mentor less experienced technologists.

Essential Functions

• Interact professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff.
• Perform sonographic examinations, properly position patients, and scan areas for interpretation.
• Instruct patients regarding procedures for cooperation and optimal results.
• Assemble patient data and images for review by physicians.
• Ensure safety standards during equipment operation.
• Utilize and maintain software applications and patient records for billing and documentation.
• Maintain ultrasound and lab equipment and examination rooms.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors, including quality control.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved medical sonography program.
• Preferred 6 months to 1 year of experience.
• Certification by RDMS, RVT, or ARRT (S).
• Active BLS certification.
