*RadForce Technologists travel between Jefferson Health locations with premium/higher pay rates.

The Jefferson Health RadForce Team is a dynamic, internal workforce comprised of our most skilled technologists across all modalities. RadForce Technologists are strategically deployed throughout the Jefferson Health system to support high-demand areas, ensuring optimal care and operational efficiency.

Technologists are hired into tiers based on the distance traveled:

  1. Tier 1: Float within 1 Region
  2. Tier 2: Float between 2 Regions
  3. Tier 3: Float between 3 Regions

Regions include:

  • North Region: Abington, Lansdale, Torresdale, Bucks, Frankford, Einstein Montgomery
  • Central Region: TJUH, Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, Methodist, Einstein Main
  • East Region: Cherry Hill, Stratford, Washington Township

Job Description

Under the direction of a radiologist or physician, the Ultrasound Technologist utilizes diagnostic ultrasound equipment to perform general examinations, producing ultrasound images for diagnostic purposes and interventional procedures. They exercise good judgment in measuring areas being examined, perform all computer processing for ultrasound exams, and deliver patient care and education before, during, and after procedures. They may also mentor less experienced technologists.

Essential Functions

  • Interact professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff, reflecting Jefferson's values.
  • Perform sonographic examinations, properly positioning patients and scanning areas for physician interpretation.
  • Instruct patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimal results.
  • Assemble and deliver pertinent patient information and images to radiologists or physicians for review.
  • Follow safety standards to protect staff and patients when operating equipment.
  • Utilize and optimize all software applications, including PACS, and maintain accurate patient records for billing and RIS/PACS.
  • Maintain ultrasound and lab equipment and examination rooms in proper condition.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by supervisors, including quality assurance tasks.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of RIS and PACS systems.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Graduate of an approved medical sonography program.
  • Preferred: 6 months to 1 year of experience.

Certifications and Licenses

  • Certification by RDMS, RVT, or ARRT (S).
  • Active BLS Certification.
