*RadForce Technologists travel between Jefferson Health locations with higher pay rates.

The Jefferson Health RadForce Team is a dynamic, internal workforce comprised of our most skilled technologists across all modalities. RadForce Technologists are strategically deployed throughout the Jefferson Health system to support areas with the highest demand, ensuring optimal patient care and operational efficiency.

Technologists are hired into tiers based on the distance traveled:

  1. Tier 1: Float within 1 Region
  2. Tier 2: Float between 2 Regions
  3. Tier 3: Float between 3 Regions

Regions include:

  • North Region: Abington, Lansdale, Torresdale, Bucks, Frankford, Einstein Montgomery
  • Central Region: TJUH, Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, Methodist, Einstein Main
  • East Region: Cherry Hill, Stratford, Washington Township

Job Description

Under the supervision of a radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures to produce detailed tissue images for diagnosis. They prepare information for physicians and care teams, and provide patient care and education before, during, and after imaging procedures.

Essential Functions:

  1. Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff consistent with Jefferson's values.
  2. Process and evaluate the technical quality of images, such as density, contrast, definition, and distortion.
  3. Maintain proper patient and equipment positioning during contrast media flow to ensure safety and successful results.
  4. Instruct patients on body positioning during MRI exams and communicate effectively, explaining procedures and answering questions.
  5. Determine equipment needs based on physician’s diagnoses and prepare scout films for preliminary review.
  6. Maintain MRI equipment through scheduled cleaning, testing, and documentation; report malfunctions.
  7. Follow MRI safety guidelines during imaging procedures.
  8. Perform other duties as directed by supervisors, including quality assurance tasks.
  9. Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of radiography tools, techniques, and applications, and ability to operate imaging technology.
  • Ability to prepare patients for imaging procedures and respond to reactions or emergencies.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of an approved ARRT program.
  • Preferred 6 months to 1 year of experience.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Active MRI Certification
  • State license as required
