Job summary

Tidelands Health is seeking an MRI Technologist II to join the Radiology team. The role involves operating MRI equipment, ensuring patient safety, and producing high-quality diagnostic images for radiologists.

The ideal candidate has an Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology and an MRI certificate, with ARRT MR certification or registry eligibility preferred. A 12-hour day shift and on-call rotation are possible in this on-site position.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in radiologic technology or equivalent.
• MRI technology certificate required.
• Minimum one year MRI experience preferred.
• ARRT MR certification or registry eligible; must obtain MR certification within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Review orders prior to the procedure to ensure accuracy and avoid delays in patient care.
• Educate and prepare patients for MRI and safety; communicate effectively.
• Obtain and document patient medical history to assist radiologist’s interpretation.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
• Perform MRI procedures as directed by physician’s orders.
• Operate MRI equipment and related coils to obtain high-quality images.
• Start IV, load and operate power injector, and administer contrast media per protocol.
• Complete exam data in hospital information system.
• Mentor or train students or new hires when needed.
