Job summary

Tidelands Health is seeking an MRI Technologist II for PRN day shifts in Myrtle Beach, SC. The role requires performing MRI procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging under minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or an MRI certificate and has MRI safety knowledge, good communication, and patient-care skills. Inpatient/on-call rotation may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of an MRI technology certificate.
• MRI technologist certification or registry eligibility with plan to obtain MR certification within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Review orders prior to procedures to ensure accuracy and avoid delays in patient care.
• Educate and prepare patients for MRI procedures and MR safety while communicating clearly.
• Obtain and document accurate patient medical history to aid radiologists' interpretation.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during the procedure.
• Perform MRI procedures as ordered by physicians.
• Operate MRI equipment and coils to obtain high-quality images.
• Start IV access, load and operate contrast media injectors as directed.
• Document exam in hospital information system and maintain equipment.
• Assist with mentoring or training students or new hires.
