Job summary

Tidelands Health is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist II to join our Imaging Services team in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will perform MRI procedures, ensure optimal image quality, and support radiologists with accurate patient histories.

The role emphasizes MR safety, patient comfort, and effective communication, with responsibilities including on-call shifts and collaborative care within the radiology department.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology required.
  • MRI technology certificate required.
  • Minimum one year MRI experience.
  • ARRT MR certification or eligibility within 24 months of hire or transfer date.

Responsibilities

  • Review orders prior to procedures to ensure accuracy.
  • Educate and prepare patients for procedures with MR safety in mind and with clear communication.
  • Obtain and document patient history to aid radiologist interpretation.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
  • Perform MRI procedures as ordered.
  • Operate MRI equipment and coils to obtain high-quality images.
  • Start IV and administer contrast media as directed per protocol.
  • Complete exams in the hospital information system.
  • Assist with mentoring or training students or new hires.
