Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD seeks an experienced MRI Technologist for the MRI Department. The role involves operating MRI scanners, training staff in MRI use, and ensuring MRI safety for all patients, including those with implants.

You will document exams and contrast administration in the EMR, PACS, and HConnect as needed. The ideal candidate holds AMA/JRCERT-accredited radiography education, Maryland licensure, ARRT MRI certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography.
• Maryland Radiation Technologist license required.
• ARRT Advanced MRI certification.
• 1 year scanning experience; MRI experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• IV contrast knowledge and safety understanding.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanners and related equipment.
• Train new employees on MRI use.
• Perform MRI safety procedures for all patients.
• Document exams and contrast administration in EMR and PACS.
• Maximize patient throughput and manage patient load.
• Collaborate with radiologists and staff to ensure quality care.
• Participate in QA procedures.
• Attend to time management and shift assignments.
