Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center, part of Adventist HealthCare, seeks an experienced MRI Technologist to join our MRI Department and support the mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of healing.

As an MRI Technologist, you will operate MRI scanners, train new staff, ensure patient safety and IV contrast precautions, document exams in EMR/PACS/HConnect, and collaborate with radiologists and nursing teams to deliver the highest quality care.

Qualifications

High school or GED
Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography
1 year scanning experience. Three years’ experience in MRI preferred
ARRT Advanced Certification in MRI
IV Certification preferred
State of Maryland Radiation Technologist license
Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Responsibilities

Operates MRI scanners and ancillary equipment.
Trains new employees in MRI use.
Implements MRI safety procedures for all patients.
Monitors and manages IV contrast administration and contraindications.
Documents MRI exams and contrast administration in EMR, PACS, HConnect, and related systems.
Maximizes patient throughput and coordinates with the team to transport patients.
Collaborates with radiologists, referring physicians, nurses, and other departments.
Performs periodic QA procedures and participates in PI projects.
