Job summary
Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking an experienced CT Technologist to join our CT Department and support our mission of comprehensive healing. The role involves performing CT exams, operating the scanner, and aiding radiologists during interventional procedures.
The ideal candidate will have Maryland licensure, ARRT CT certification, and preferably 1 year of CT experience, with BLS certification required. Full-time hours with day shifts and weekend rotations are typical.
Qualifications
- High school or GED
- Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography
- 1 year CT experience preferred
- State of Maryland Radiation Technologist license
- ARRT (CT) Certification
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Responsibilities
- Perform CT examinations per radiologist protocols.
- Operate CT scanner and ancillary equipment.
- Assist radiologist and staff in interventional procedures.
- Identify patients and review orders; select scanning protocols.
- Document in HIS, RIS, PACS and related systems.
- Maximize patient throughput and assist transport.
- Provide general patient care within CT department.
- Assist in orienting and training new staff and students
