Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to operate MRI scanners and related equipment, while ensuring safety and accuracy in imaging. You will train new staff, document exams, and collaborate with radiologists to deliver high-quality patient care.

The role requires ARRT MRI certification, Maryland licensure, and BLS, with 1 year MRI scanning experience (3 years preferred). Employment is part-time with evening shifts and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• High school or GED
• Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography
• 1 year scanning experience. Three years’ experience in MRI preferred
• ARRT Advanced Certification in MRI
• IV Certification preferred
• State of Maryland Radiation Technologist license
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanners and ancillary equipment.
• Train new employees in MRI use.
• Follow MRI safety procedures for all patients including those with implants.
• Understand IV contrast administration and contraindications.
• Document MRI exams and contrast in EMR, PACS, and HConnect.
• Maximize patient throughput and manage workload with one MRI scanner.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other departments.
• Perform periodic QA procedures.
• Contribute to department time management and punctuality.
• Participate in PI projects and other duties.
