Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD, part of Adventist HealthCare, seeks an experienced MRI Technologist to operate MRI scanners and support the department's mission of compassionate care.

You will train new staff, ensure MRI safety for all patients, and document exams in EMR, PACS and HConnect, collaborating with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other departments to maximize throughput and patient care.

Qualifications

• High school or GED
• Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography
• 1 year scanning experience. Three years' experience in MRI preferred
• ARRT Advanced Certification in MRI
• IV Certification preferred
• Maryland Radiation Technologist license
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanners and ancillary equipment with proficiency
• Train new employees in MRI use
• Ensure MRI safety procedures for all patients
• Document MRI exams, contrast administration in EMR, PACS, HConnect
• Maximize patient throughput and work with team to manage load on a single MRI scanner
• Collaborate with radiologists, referring physicians, nurses and other departments
• Participate in QA procedures and PI projects
• Be punctual and manage time per hospital standards
