Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD seeks an experienced MRI Technologist to join its MRI Department and support the mission of compassionate care. The role requires proficiency with MRI scanners, patient safety, and accurate documentation in EMR/PACS, with opportunities to train new staff and participate in QA projects.

Employment type is variable part-time with a 4PM–11PM schedule on Saturdays and Sundays, 5.5 hours per week, with evening shifts and rotating holidays.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography.
• 1 year scanning experience; 3 years MRI preferred.
• ARRT Advanced Certification in MRI.
• Maryland Radiation Technologist license.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanners and related equipment with proficiency.
• Train new employees in MRI use and safety procedures.
• Identify and perform MRI safety checks on all patients.
• Understand IV contrast administration and contraindications.
• Document MRI exams and contrast in EMR/PACS/HConnect.
• Maximize patient throughput and coordinate with team.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and staff.
• Perform periodic QA procedures as required.
• Contribute to department time management and PI projects.
