Responsibilities

• Positions patient on examining table and places specified coil near area of interest, following protocols requested by Radiologist.
• Demonstrates use of microphone that allows patient and technologist to communicate during examination.
• Enters data such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into MRI.
• Keys commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers in the computer.
• Observes patient through control room window and CCTV to monitor safety and comfort.
• Views images of areas being scanned on video display to ensure quality of pictures.
• Keys in data on keyboard of camera to photograph images.
• Alerts staff entering magnet room to the danger of wearing or carrying metal around magnet.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
