Job summary

Atlantic Health System in Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ, is seeking an MRI technologist to create cross‑sectional images of patients for diagnostic purposes using MRI equipment, while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

You will position patients, select appropriate coils, operate the scanner, monitor imaging in real time, enter patient data, verify image quality, and collaborate with radiologists to support accurate diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Positions patient on examining table and places specified coils close to area of interest, following protocols requested by Radiologist.
• Demonstrates use of microphone to communicate during examination.
• Enters data such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation, and position into computer.
• Keys commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers in the computer.
• Observes patient through control room and monitor to ensure safety and comfort.
• Views images on video display to ensure picture quality.
• Keys in data to photograph images.
• Alerts staff to danger of wearing or carrying metal around the magnet.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
