Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI scanners, perform routine and advanced imaging, and provide excellent patient care. You will screen and prep patients, position them, and adjust parameters under physician orders while maintaining RIS records and ensuring safety and equipment upkeep.

Ideal candidates have AMA radiography training, ARRT/ARMRIT registration, CPR certification, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an AMA approved radiography program.
• ARRT or ARMRIT registration current and in good standing per state regulations.
• Licensed radiology technologist in the relevant state, if required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Sufficient training/experience to perform MRI procedures independently.
• Imaging specialty certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanners to produce diagnostic images.
• Screen patients and prepare them for MRI procedures.
• Explain procedures and position patients for scanning.
• Adjust scan parameters and follow physician orders.
• Maintain records in RIS and ensure safety and cleanliness.

Job description

RAYUS Radiology is looking for an MRI Technologist to join our team. As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologist, you will be responsible for the operation of assigned scanners to produce diagnostic images of the patient's body. You will provide MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(90%) Patient MRI Imaging

1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions, using two identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure.
2. Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures and positions patients so that the parts of the body can be scanned.
3. Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illness and/or injury with minimal supervision, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout the procedure.
4. Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed.
5. Follows physician orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
6. Maintains an orderly and clean work area, including sanitizing equipment and promoting good safety habits.
7. Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use.
8. Maintains the ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.

(5%) MRI Department Support

1. Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
2. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary.
3. Assists in the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise as applicable.

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Required

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography.
3. ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing, depending on state regulations and business need.
4. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
6. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently.
7. Certification in imaging specialty.

Preferred

1. Bilingual.
