Job summary

RAYUS Radiology in Greenwood, Indiana is looking for a part-time MRI Technologist to join our dedicated team. You will be responsible for operating MRI scanners, ensuring high-quality patient care while performing imaging procedures with minimal supervision. The position involves working 24 hours per week, mainly on weekends.

Job description

RAYUS Radiology is looking for an MRI Technologist to join our team. As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologist, you will be responsible for the operation of assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient’s body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient‑centered approach, you will provide MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.

Part‑time position working 24 hours per week; shifts are Saturday & Sunday 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient MRI Imaging (90%)

1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure.
2. Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, including procedure details and positioning of the body for appropriate scanning.
3. Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body with minimal supervision, providing patient support by speaking to patients throughout the procedure.
4. Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed.
5. Follows physicians’ orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
6. Maintains an orderly and clean work area, including sanitization of equipment to promote safety for patients and team members.
7. Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use.
8. Maintains the ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.

MRI Department Support (5%)

1. Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
2. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary.
3. Assists in the training of new team members, providing resources and technical expertise as applicable.

Completes other tasks as assigned (5%)

REQUIRED

1. High School diploma, or equivalent.
2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography.
3. ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing, depending on state regulations and business need.
4. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
6. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently.
7. Certification in imaging specialty.
