Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is seeking an MRI Technologist to capture high-quality diagnostic images, educate patients through the imaging journey, and ensure smooth PACS transfers with precise documentation. You will monitor MRI equipment health and keep the imaging department ready for uninterrupted patient care.

The role requires multiple MRI credentials, BLS certification, and a strong hospital MRI background, with on-site scheduling in Pensacola, FL.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire
• NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Tech credentialed prior to hire
• ARRT MRI credentialed prior to hire
• ARRT Radiography credentialed prior to hire or ARDMS Sonography accepted
• ARDMS Sonography credentialed prior to hire
• CCI Cardiac Sonography credentialed prior to hire
• ARDMS Vascular Sonography credentialed prior to hire
• ARMRIT MRI credentialed prior to hire
• High School diploma or equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience

Responsibilities

• Capture high-fidelity diagnostic images by positioning patients and selecting precise technical parameters
• Guide patients through the imaging journey with empathetic education and pre-screening for safety
• Lead quality control for the digital record by transferring images to PACS and ensuring accurate labeling
• Maintain a high-performance clinical environment by monitoring equipment health and department readiness

• Schedule: Day shift l PRN

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Capture high-fidelity diagnostic images by expertly positioning patients and selecting precise technical parameters to ensure clinical clarity.
• Guide patients through the imaging journey by providing empathetic education and pre-screening to reduce anxiety and ensure safety.
• Lead quality control for the digital record by managing the seamless transfer of images to PACS, ensuring every scan is accurately marked and documented for the radiologist.
• Maintain a high-performance clinical environment by proactively monitoring equipment health and department readiness to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s): BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following: Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Sonography specialty also accepted.
• Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Sonography Tech specializing in Cardiac credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences :

• At least minimum 3 years of hospital MRI experience
