Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to perform high-resolution diagnostic scans, precisely positioning patients and selecting parameters to capture cross-sectional images for treatment planning.

This role supports patient education, pre-screening, and ensures rapid access to quality imaging data through PACS. You’ll monitor equipment health, uphold safety standards, and collaborate with a patient-centered imaging team.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Credentialing in one or more imaging specialties (CCI/NMTCB/ARRT/ARDMS/ARMRIT) is required.
• Active licensure appropriate to imaging modalities as listed.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-resolution MRI scans with precise patient positioning and parameter selection.
• Educate and pre-screen patients to ensure comfort and safety during exams.
• Manage diagnostic data from entry to PACS transmission for ready access.
• Monitor equipment health and uphold strict safety standards.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Execute high-resolution diagnostic scans by expertly positioning patients and selecting precise technical parameters to capture the cross-sectional images essential for accurate treatment.

• Empower patients through the imaging process by providing clear education and thorough pre-screening, ensuring they feel informed, safe, and prepared for their exam.

• Manage the full lifecycle of diagnostic dataâfrom meticulous entry to PACS transmissionâto guarantee the medical team has immediate access to high-quality, life-saving information.

• Maintain a high-performance clinical environment by proactively monitoring equipment health and upholding rigorous safety standards to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• One or more of the following required:

• Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
